NLE The Great - KO (Official Short Film)
3D Printing, Digital Sculpting, Prototyping
For NLE Choppa's (NLE The Great) official short film 'KO,' I was referred by sculptor David Simon to create the severed, Medusa-style head the artist holds in the final scene, a piece that called for digital sculpting and 3D printing, rather than a traditional build. With under a two week turnaround, I prototyped, digitally sculpted, 3D-printed, and assembled the piece, which Mike Pflaumer then painted to read as a cast bronze sculpture, delivered ready for the shoot.
Medical Modeling - 3D Printing for Healthcare
Digital Sculpt, 3D Printing
3D Systems, in partnership with United Therapeutics, was developing 'Print to Perfusion,' a bioprinting process for growing replacement lungs from 3D-printed scaffolds at their San Diego lab. Working through Gentle Giant Studios, I created this trachea model, designed as protein 3D-printed scaffolding that could support bioprinting lung tissue, which was tested with their team.
AT Hauler for Solo: A Star Wars Story
Hard Surface Model
Solo: A Star Wars Story is Lucasfilm's 2018 spin-off film. Working through Gentle Giant Studios, I received a concept file from Lucasfilm for an AT Hauler that wasn't print-ready, and remodeled the hard surface geometry for rapid prototyping. The final piece is on display at Disney's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. All designs and materials shown belong to Lucasfilm/Disney.
Sneaker Bar for Nike Live
Hard Surface Model
The Sneaker Bar is a centerpiece fixture at Nike Live, the brand's 2018 concept store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, styled after a cafe or bar where customers get personalized footwear recommendations from an in-store expert. Working through Gentle Giant Studios, I received a Google SketchUp file that needed remodeling, and rebuilt it to prep the hard surface geometry for 3D printing.
